Skincare Tips to Prepare For Your Wedding Day

skincare tips

Preparing for your wedding can be one of life’s most exciting experiences. Regardless of your vision for your ceremony, there’s no question that glowing skin can enhance your confidence when it’s your time in the spotlight. If you’d like to improve your skincare game before the big day, our med spa in Denver, Colorado can help! Whether you already have a routine that you love or you’re looking to change things up, here are a few tips that can help you achieve healthy, radiant skin on your wedding day:

Check In With a Dermatologist or Esthetician

If you have skin concerns that you’d like to address, getting an early start is ideal. It can take six months (or even longer) to improve conditions such as acne and hyperpigmentation, so the best way to avoid stress is to have a plan in place.  If you don’t have a skincare professional that you trust, it’s time to find one! During your first appointment, you’ll discuss your goals as your esthetician evaluates your skin and creates a customized plan for your unique needs.

Adhere to Your Regimen

Once you’ve built a regimen that’s tailored to you, sticking with it is the most important thing you can do to achieve your goals. In most cases, your skincare routine will involve cleansing and moisturizing twice daily, applying sunscreen throughout the day, and exfoliating once every few days. It can feel like a lot to keep up with at first, but should eventually become second nature. If you’re noticing any new issues or aren’t seeing results within a few weeks, be sure to reach back out to your esthetician or dermatologist.

Invest in Additional Treatments

Once the wedding is about six months away, it’s a good time to start investing in additional treatments to augment the results of your at-home routine. Options such as microneedling or chemical peels require a short period of healing, so you’ll want to ensure that your last treatment is at least one month ahead of your wedding day.

Stick With What Works

As you get closer to the big day, it’s more important than ever to stick with what’s working. Once you’re about 30 days out, you’re past the safety zone of experimenting with new products or treatments. Even if your skin isn’t particularly sensitive, you probably won’t want to run the risk of a breakout or reaction to products you’ve never tried before. If you have any questions about what might be safe to use, don’t hesitate to contact your trusted esthetician.
