Preventative Skincare Treatments for Anti-Aging

Looking for ways to roll back the clock on age-related skin concerns? As technology improves and skincare education becomes more accessible, younger-looking skin can be a reality for everyone! At our medi-spa in Denver, we offer many treatments and products designed to target all skin concerns. Whether you want to level up your at-home skincare routine or see us for cutting-edge services, we’re here to help. Here, we share tips that can prevent signs of premature aging so you can look and feel your best:

High-Quality SPF

While we offer excellent anti-aging treatments, prevention is always our top recommendation. If you haven’t been diligent about sunscreen, the next best time to get started is now. Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is so important and easy. Look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF level of at least 30. Many products work double duty and can act as a light foundation or moisturizer. We love products like Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, which offers SPF 36 and gives the skin a healthy, natural glow. We carry this product in the spa, so ask your skincare professional about it next time you’re here!

Retinol

If you’ve heard the retinol hype, you may wonder if it’s worth it. It’s true–retinol should be part of your skincare routine if anti-aging is your goal! Retinol is a form of vitamin A often added to creams and serums. In addition to its powerful anti-aging effects, it’s also excellent for combating acne. Retinol is so effective because it increases cell turnover and collagen production, which results in a smoother texture (i.e., reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles). Some people can be sensitive to retinol, so start with a lower percentage (between 0.25 and 0.5%) and see how your skin handles it.

Vitamin C

Research has confirmed that vitamin C should be a staple of everyone’s skincare regimen. This ingredient is excellent for slowing signs of skin aging, preventing sun damage, and minimizing the appearance of dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. Vitamin C can be used daily to improve skin’s texture and overall health.

Neurotoxins

Although most people use neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport to combat existing wrinkles, this treatment can also prevent deep lines from forming. This treatment is effective for prevention because Botox and Dysport temporarily prevent the muscles that cause wrinkles from contracting, leading to smoother skin. And if you’ve heard about “frozen face,” don’t worry–our highly experienced nurse injector will ensure your results are natural.

Our top priority is helping our clients love the skin they’re in. If you’re interested in starting anti-aging treatments at home or seeing us at our medi-spa in Denver, give us a call!
